Event Details

Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) offers powerful tools to help individuals connect with their values, manage challenges, and take meaningful action, and its applications extend far beyond direct client work.

In this CEU event, BCBAs Shayna Gaunt and Shira Karpel will explore how to use ACT principles flexibly across parent training, staff supervision, and client support. Learn how to integrate ACT language and strategies to foster psychological flexibility, reduce burnout, strengthen relationships, and promote values-driven action at every level of your practice.

Through practical examples and interactive discussion, you’ll discover how to bring ACT off the page and into real conversations, helping parents navigate tough moments, guiding staff toward professional growth, and supporting clients in building meaningful, lasting change.

Attendees will earn 1 Learning CEU for ACE, BACB, and IBAO certification.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the six core processes of ACT and how they relate to psychological flexibility in different contexts.
  2. Identify ways to integrate ACT principles into parent coaching, staff supervision, and client interactions.
  3. Apply ACT-based strategies to enhance motivation, resilience, and values-driven behavior in both personal and professional settings.
