Early Executive Functioning Mastery Course

Executive Functioning is the CEO of the Brain

Just as an air traffic control system at a busy airport safely manages the arrivals and departures of many aircrafts on multiple runways, the brain needs this skill set to filter distractions, prioritize tasks, set and achieve goals, and control impulses.

Executive functioning is like the CEO of the brain, overseeing and managing various cognitive processes. It’s responsible for skills like organization, planning, time management, and emotional regulation. For children with autism, honing these skills can be transformative, fostering independence and enhancing their overall quality of life.

A lot of teachers, parents, and behavior professionals don’t know where to start when teaching these critical skills.

Early executive functioning skills are critical skills children need to be able to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks successfully.

Many children with autism and other developmental delays lack these skills and require direct instruction to learn them.

…That’s why How to ABA and Dr. Alan Schnee have teamed up to create a BRAND NEW course all about teaching early executive functioning skills. This course includes what skills to teach and what order to go in, how to do it, why they are important, and other things that you may have to take into consideration when teaching each skill.

It’s our view that children with ASD need to learn to do practical things and solve practical problems. They need to search for things, deliver things, put things away, make things, build things, and solve problems within their daily lives.

In order to be able to do such things, children need to remember what they are to do, curb impulses, and sustain their attention through the task. In other words, executive function abilities are required.
